Had on tap. Pours like the rest of the series, ring is darker brown in complexion however. Earthy and fudgy coffee, brown batter, vanilla, caramel, bourbon, charcoal, sand, oak, and leather. Taste takes you on an exploration of all things dark, earthy, fudgy and roasted, with some sweetness and booze to round out with character. Same flavors from smell plus dark fruit and a hint of roasted nuts. Feel is dark, lush, super earthy, and warm, deep and complex, but finish tapers dry and roast that stops the perfection, but still damn good. Second best variant I have had to date

What a beast. Rich, overflowing with dark chocolately coffee notes. Definite sipper but you'll enjoy every drop from the rim of the glass warming its way down to your stomach. Cant go wrong.

Poured into a tulip glass. Thanks, Shannon.
A: Black as night with a thin tan half finger head that quickly dissipated.
S: Light coffee, bourbon, vanilla and toasty caramel.
T: Bourbon and coffee intermingle with caramel, chocolate and toasty oak. Big, boozy and bold.
M: Medium to heavy with heavy, chewy carbonation.
O: A taste bomb that gets even better as it warms. Glad I got to try this retired master.

The beer hits of coconut, vanilla, coffee bitterness, charred oak and burnt caramel notes with a smooth bitterness. Having it in a tasting with the other variants, it is somewhere in between the decadence of BA Vietnamese and the fruitiness of the coffee in the base Speedway.

From 11/28/15 notes. Had at our Mega-Speedway tasting.
Pours a dark black, with a few dark tan bubbles and no carbonation. Less head and carb than the others. Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee grinds, clay...seems oxidized for sure. Thick body and low carbonation.
Overall still a good beer but has not held up quite as well as other variants...wouldn't trade for this one considering what it demands.

This beer was a perfect combination of chocolate & coffee richness in the form of liquid dessert. Easily my favorite version of their barrel aged speedways, a perfect beer
