On tap at O'Brien's for 2012 SDBW.

A: Deep, slick black with a ring of fine, medium dark brown head. No real lacing, but it retains the foam quite well. Almost like looking at an espresso.

S: A subdued regular Speedway, mostly cocoa and medium roast coffee at first, but subtle dried cherry comes through as it warms.

T: Dried cherries at the forefront, which drowns much of the base flavors. Slight cherry tang, though at times the it tastes medicinal.

M: Silky, full bodied, and medium-light carbonation which works wonderfully with the body.

O: Cherry is decent enough, but it detracts from the base beer whose flavor is absent. This sounds like it should be a really good combination. But it needs more of the base beer to really come together. (764 characters)
