Unassuming shop about a block from Dam Square, but once inside the small store boasts an impressive, and somewhat overwhelming, bottle selection. Came in on a very rainy day looking for some de Molen and was not disappointed. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable but did not initiate conversation. They did have an odd selection of American beers, including Intinction from Russian River, which the woman behind the counter mentioned came via a trade. Worth a visit if you're in Amsterdam.

Stopped in on a recent visit to Amsterdam. Definitely a good selection, but not the best bottle shop in Amsterdam. The selection pretty good. Overall, I was underwhelmed. The prices were very high, and the service was non-existent. The guy at the counter didn't say a word to me and I was the only person in the shop. They definitely had some nice lambics (several Cantillon and 3F) and they had Westvleteren. They also had some cool American beers, like Adam from the Wood. Overall, a good place to stop when visiting Amsterdam.

Very fun beer store to visit. They have so many offerings. I recommend trying some new breweries as they carry so many different brands. Very friendly staff too.

Store after visiting in the state of light relaxation, but I will try to evaluate it objectively:
1) Location is just excellent, very easy to find;
2) The appearance of the store - nothing special;
3) The beer choice is very large, I think everyone can yourself to find something interesting;
4) Service bad, the seller was standing behind the counter and did not pay any attention. It is possible to be a closer. I advise you to drive bearded !!!

While I was expecting a great selection of beers from the Netherlands, they had so much more, from seasonal Cantillon, to stouts from The Bruery . Huge selection and friendly service. They even do trade,s from what the worker told me!

So I finally had a few minutes for myself in my last visit to Amsterdam. I knew this was the best store in town. Google Maps, one backpack, and here we go.
The place was a bit small but by having all the walls filled with beer up the ceiling actually became the best store I've ever been to. An awesome selection of dutch beers, belgian beers (european in general) and some US beers but nothing too fancy. This was the moment when I grabbed a beer from North Coast out of a shelve.
In my last steps in the unknown of this store, I saw something I couldn't believe in. Westvleteren beers, right on my front. Being a craft beer addict and knowing this beer from 'day one', this was a moment of truth. Actually, this had been my european whale.
Bought a Westy XII and became very happy. The end.

My favourite in NL. Nice selection, on top of the beers, and all the matching glasses.

Excellent selection of cantillon, and even some surprising American beers here.

Its located in the heart of Amsterdam not far from Dam Square. Its bewen around about 30 years. One of the best selections of European beer anywhere. About 1500 at last count. No need to say more.

Absolutely deserving of its 100 rating. Best bottle shop I've ever been to - I'm sure there are comparable places in the States, but coming from the UK this place was a miracle.
Things that I was particularly excited to find:
Plead the 5th
Uerige Doppelsticke (after failing to find this in Germany, I never thought I'd stumble on it in Amsterdam)
Incredible selection of de Molen (maybe 30 different beers)
And large quantities of two of my favourite Christmas beers: Stille Nacht and Aecht Schlenkerla Eiche
Huge selection of glasses
Prices were generally fair, though I wasn't planning on shelling out €99 for Stille Nacht Reserva. I also felt the Westys were comparatively overpriced - I remember in Bruges 12 was priced at around €10, so €15.90 for each of them seemed a bit steep.
One of the guys working there was really helpful and took me round the shop in hunt of smoked beers - came out with some good suggestions, including a number from de Molen along with some other Dutch breweries I hadn't come across before.
I went late afternoon on a Saturday and the shop was unsurprisingly packed in the run-up to Christmas - probably best to go in the morning if you can - it's a narrow shop which makes it slightly stressful when it's packed with customers.
