Had on nitro.
L - Dark brown, with a thick, creamy head as should be expected from nitro. Head retention was spectacular.
S - Dark roasted malts, and threat of cloying sweetness.
T - The sweetness is only in the smell, flavor doesn't have anything offensive or off. Pure roasted malts, and a little booziness. Not exactly special, but exactly in line with what an RIS should be. Nitro did no seem to thin the flavor at all, or maybe the regular version is just that much more explosive in flavor. Since they're down the road from me, maybe I'll see if I can have it off-nitro to compare.
F - Thick and creamy and perfect.
A very good Russian Imperial. Not quite a Marshall Zhukov, but still pretty great. Most importantly, I had no idea Crooked Can did a RIS, and their brewery is just off my daily commute, so I've got a reason to stop by.

Crooked Can Brewing Co. "Russian Imperial Stout"
on tap via nitrogen pour @ The Gnarly Barley, Orlando, FL on 22 December 2016
$6 / 12 oz.
Notes: Aroma of ashen roast, dark chocolate, some fruit. Flavor delivers notes of chocolate and cocoa, some non-specific fruit that's mostly overshadowed, and some alcohol that gives a slap - perhaps a bit much. A stiff bitterness leads to a dry finish with a spritz of alcohol remaining. Bittersweet chocolate lingers. I'm not sure what the nitrogen pour adds to it, although I'm not sure if the brewery did that or if the bar did it themselves. Medium full in body and creamy. Overall very nice, although the alcohol is a touch aggressive.
