A Patersbier–Dutch for "fathers beer"–is a light, refreshing Belgian-style table beer traditionally consumed by Trappist monks with their meals (or when no one was looking). Ours is golden in color, dry and highly carbonated. German Pilsner malt contributes mild notes of bread, while the Czech Saaz hops add notes of spice and earth tones to the aroma. A classic Belgian Trappist ale yeast delivers delicate and complex fruity notes. Goes great with friends, family, and thwarts all enemies.

My 8th at the Oak Park 7th Generation Beerfest, my buds were getting fatigued.
So humor me as I get abstract....
Typical of many home brewers who turn pro and have good success, they go too far out of their comfort zone and brew a Belgian. It is a tough tradition to replicate and even harder to innovate. This Patersbier needs a true Belgian yeast before it can get to style. This is obvious from its Looks, flat and murky. Smells are average for the style, malty, fruity and balanced. Tastes follow as this beer is integrated. Feel finishes refreshing.

I like how the owner is following his passion for a few years now. I wish his brewery well. But best not to go too far afield from the hazy NEIPA that seems to be your cash cow.

Served from the can in a pokal at the 2018 Lake Zurich Craft Beer Fest.

Nothing to cure a phobia of phobias than a beer, amiright? This stuff pours a mostly clear brass topped by a finger or so of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises Belgian yeast, mild grass, light flowers, light biscuit, and what seems like some orange-peel perfume. The taste brings in more of the same, the orange peel taking a turn for the lighter citrus fruits (think lemon and thereabouts), and there's some mild pepper in there as well. The body is fairly light, with a light moderate carbonation and a wet feel. Overall, a nice warm-weather paters, a fairly refreshing source of Belgian-y goodness for your summer golf plans.

Draft at the brewery, quick review from written notes.
Served in a tapered sampler glass. bright gold with a lasting head of drippy lace.
Aromas of vanilla and spicy Belgian yeast. Light lemony tang, dominant Belgian yeast flavors.
Crisp and light bodied, finishes dry. Overall it's pretty drinkable, not bad.

Aroma is Belgian yeast, spices and dryish malts. The flavor is vanilla, Belgian yeast, mild fruit/lemons, malts and a mix of mild sweetness and tart in the finish.

I can't pronounce the name but I recently had this on draft at a local Bar Louie and I thought it was pretty good.
They were calling it Phobo at the bar because I guess no one else can pronounce or remember it's full name either. Appearance was good with a nice golden color and a little foam on top. It had a nice crisp pale ale flavor with some fruit tones. Supposedly it is a summer beer, but it is being released in the winter which I don't quite understand, however I would rank it right up there with other well regarded pale ales and would order it again if given the opportunity.... summer or winter!
