Stoped by vecenies to check out some beers by the case and get some kegs. There selection was ok. There a victory distributor so i went up looking for stormking, only to find out they were out of it!. They had a ton of kegged beer located at there warehouse down the street. The guy in store was friendly, and eager to call warehouse and see what was avabile for us. The price of victory beers were the best ive ever seen but the rest of the beers, including the kegs were average with anyone else. Great place for kegs or if you live close, but not worth the drive for me. If im in the area, ill swing by and get a case of victory beer.

Vecenies! You can't say enough about them, they will even carry your beer to your car for you! I haven't seen that kind of service in a long while.

Great Pennsylvania craft beer, good selection of imports, beers from all over the U.S. and they usually have the most beers at local beer festivals. Gotta love them. Here's some of the beers I buy there:

August Schell - Bell's - Buffalo Bills
Dogfish Head - East End - Erie Brewing
Ft. Collins Brewery - Heavy Seas - Smuttynose
Stone - Stoudts - Troegs - Victory - Voodoo Brewery - Weyerbacher -Yards Brewing -
Furthermore Beer and more.

Most of the previous reviews sum up Vecenie's pretty well. These guys are the driving force behind bringing good craft beer to the Western PA area. They are also good about getting seasonal and limited releases from breweries such as DFH, Victory, Stone, et c. I picked up my case of the 2006 Stone RIS to enjoy now and for later. Noticed they had the DFH 120m IPA and Immort Ale (not that Id buy cases of those, well maybe the Immort).

As other reviewers have said, bring cash. They dont take plastic. As with other reviewers, they were patient with me as I went out to get more cash (that Stone RIS aint cheap!). Being Vecenie's is a 2nd tier distributor and only sells by the case, you will get good prices for buying in bulk.

Also, Tony K., the PR guy from Vecenie's, is out and about hosting tasting, doing a radio show on local AM Radio (KQV 1410), and does read and participate in the BA forums.

Vecenie is one of the second tier distributors in the Pittsburgh area. They bring in many of the micros that are available in the area. These beers include Victory, Stone, Heavyweight, Troegs, Erie, Bell's, Yards, and Stoudts. However because of the liquor laws in PA, you can only buy beers they bring in. All the cases of beer that were bought there were very fresh, and in top of the line shape.

There a few problems that Vecenie has because they are a second tier. One is that they are not allowed to sell beer using credit or debit cards. All of the parking is on the street as well.

The service is good because they will go to the warehouse to get a case that they do not have in the showroom. If they already sent the last of a beer out they will look up a third tier that would have it.

Overall this is a place to go if a case of micro is wanted; also this is place to try to find a special release at a good price.

Quality/Selection: Vecenie is the 2nd-tier craft beer distributor for Western PA. As such, they feature most of the great craft beers that anyone would look for: Stone, Dogfish Head, Victory, Heavyweight, just to name a few. In addition, they have an interesting import selection, with a few offering from Baltika, Czechvar, and a few other emerging Eastern Europe breweries. In addition, they're starting to distribute Shelton Bros. beers, including their Belgians (Cantillon!!). They don't always have all these beers laying around for retail sale, but most of the good macros and imports can be obtained fairly easily.

Service: I've never had any complaints about the service. The people are friendly and reasonable, and the prices are often lower than the same beer at the 3rd-tier; as far as I can tell, they don't charge a markup! The only complaint I've had is that they can't use a credit card for the sale, but this is the state's fault and not theirs, so I can't blame them for it.

I have to thank Vecenie for bringing so much good beer to the Pittsburgh area, and their efforts in educating people about these better beers. I'll definitely go here first for all of my case needs, as it's there first, and likely cheapest as well.

Didn't know what to expect when I went searching for my case of Victory Hop Wallop, I will say that when I found this well hidden (when coming in from the back way) establishment it just snuck up on me on the corner of what seems to be a business district of Milvale. I called ahead to see if they had any cases of the HW, and she Genie said they were bringing it down from the main warehouse I told her I would be there in about an hour and to save at least one of 'em for me. Due to a shortage of their supply they were very low on cases they only received 48 of the 60 cases alloted to the Pittsburgh area. I am very blessed I found mine when I did, and I must also give credit to Tony K. the PR guy of the gang he hosts many tastings in the area and is very involved in making sure the Pittsburgh beer scene continues to flourish responsible for many new imports and micros that enter our area.

Much as people review a place for mail-order, this review will be similar.

Vecenie's is one of the driving forces in the craft beer market for Western PA. They are one of the regional distributors, and they have gone to great lengths to advocate good beers like Stoudts, Tröegs, and Heavyweight. I've seen Tony K. at the Sharp Edge a few times pouring Stoudt's and Heavywieght brews, he was at Sapphires with Heavyweight and maybe Tröegs as well, and he even helped serve beers for Tröeg's at the PA micro festival at the Penn Brewery this year.

If I ever order a beer from them, it is deleivered on time. As a regional distributor, they supply many distributors in Western PA. One of those is my local. On a recent quest, my normal contact at my local was out one day, so I call Vecenie's to see what the inventory is like. It's critically low, but without much effort, it is slated for delivery on my local's next delivery. What great service.

And the gang at Vecenie's is always trying to get more good beers in. Their Eastern European selection is growing nicely, but they also accentuate the small micros, like Tröeg's, Bell's, Erie Brewing, Weyerbacher, and so many others. These are great beer people, and I'm happy to rely on them (Via Cappelli's) for much of my special beer requests. Thanks to Michelle and Tony and the rest of the crew at Vecenie's for enhancing the selection Western PA BA's have. One day, I will set foot in their distributorship. Till then, I know they are there, making fine craft brews available in Western PA, since 1933 no less!

This is a great distributor. They are huge supporters of PA micros and try to get as much as they can in stock. They supply most of the local "good beer" bars and pubs with their harder to find beers.
The owners are incredibly nice. First visit there, I didnt realize their hours are 9-5 Mon-Sat. I showed at 5:05 when they were closing. They reopened and let me browse and buy. Then I didnt realize they didnt have a credit card swiper, so I had to run to the ATM down the street. They never complained once and even sat there and chatted with us for a few minutes!
The only downside I can think of (other than the hours only being till 5) is that they are located in Millvale, which is a bit harder to get to.....but thats just me personally, its easier for some people. Definitely a great distributor!
