Pours a cloudy brown with a big thick head. Head is off-white and very lacy. Leaves lace the whole time. The smell is quite yeasty. Smells of rich malt with spicy and sweet undertones.
Starts with the flavor of strong alcohol. Bitter followed by big maltiness and strong yeasty flavors. As it warms caramel and sweeter malt flavors evident. Finishes with taste of sweet molasses. Full bodied, sugary aftertaste.
This is a quite drinkable and enjoyable strong dark Belgian style ale. A bit one-dimensional or I could have scored it higher.
