I just don't like this beer. Every bottle I've had tastes like rubber tires and disappointment. The drafts haven't been much better. I love Allagash but this beer makes me sad.

Allagash does belgian really well.

A: 3.75 - Hazy brown beer, with a dreamy creamy head and only a little lace. While the beer gets better as it warms, the appearance flags.
S: 4.25 Well-rounded meld of brown sugar and fruit, with a church like wood smell and dark walnuts.
T: 4.25 equal to the smell - Sweetness is tempered by spice, nuts, pepper and a wine like / tannin feel. Oaky, dusty, and very complex.

MF: 4 - Fine mouth feel long hop drying finish, gets better as she warms. Good last beer of evening. Plenty of complexity to meditate on.

Other reviewers says it cellars well.

Prune and dark dried fruit aromas, toffee and a hint of chocolate
Pours deep reddish brown under a thick, persistent, off-white 2" foam cap that produces classic cathedral window lace.
Dark malt toffee flavors that approach chocolate, dried fruit - primarily prune and fig, a touch of sweetness but on the dry side for a dubbel
Creamy smooth medium body with above average fine soft carbonation.
