Notes/Commercial Description:
Allagash Saison is our interpretation of a classic Belgian farmhouse style. It is a golden hued beer, brewed with a 2-Row blend, malted rye, oats and dark Belgian candi sugar. Saison is hopped with Tettnang, Bravo and Cascade hops. Fermented with a traditional saison yeast strain, Saison exhibits notes of spice and tropical fruit in the aroma. Citrus and a peppery spice dominate the flavor and make way for a pleasant malt character. Saison is full bodied with a remarkably dry finish.

Excited to try this new year-round from Allagash as I've always felt a saison would complement their already excellent white, dubble, and triple offerings.

Fills the glass with a pale golden color and capped with a towering white head that doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Impressively fruity right up front on the nose with lots of citrusy lemon notes which give way ever so slightly to a subtle peppery spice note as it opens up.

Tropical fruit notes aren't quite as powerful on the palate, revealing more of an even balance between the yeasty pepper spice and juicy sweet and tart fruit notes. Finishes with just a touch of musty farmhouse character.

Overall, another excellent offering from Allagash. It'll be nice to have another widely available and affordable saison on the shelves along sides the likes of Hennepin and Tank 7.

A slightly hazy, pale yellow beer that pours with a finger of rocky, white head. The head leaves light lacing on the glass.

Moderate phenols of black pepper and some smoke blend with a light fruit and pils malt to make up most of the aroma. There is a moderate hops aroma that is earthy and spicy like Saaz.

The taste mirrors the aroma with the spice and a light smoke dominating, followed by a moderate amount of light colored fruit and touch of pils malt sweetness then moving to a dry finish. There is a moderate hops bitterness and a low, spicy hops flavor that complaints the yeast derived flavors.

A light bodied beer with a strong level of carbonation.

A spicy and slighty smoky saison.

In my snifter this beer was a hazy yellow color. There was a tiny white head.

Aroma was citrus, floral, and spicy.

Lemon taste. Sweet bread. Cinnamon. A good amount of funk.

Nice mouthfeel, dominated by the spice. Enjoyable. I will buy this again. Nice 4 pack.

Very floral and fruity. I see this as being above average, but I have had better in the style.

Had on tap at the Publican, Chicago
Fruity nose: citrus, peach, tropical.
Hazy straw under a thick, moussey foam cap - lacy.
Fruity, spicy palate: citrus, tropical fruits, shot of pepper on the finish
Very creamy, medium body, medium high carbonation, very easy to drink.
