12oz brown bottle
Served in an Allagash goblet
Pours a hazy orange-hued/tea-like color with a substantial fluffy white head on top.
The smells of citrus and spices rise at once, followed by grass pastures and wildflowers. A dry malty smell rolls forward, as does a light whiff of gin.
Balanced flavors of citrus and strong tea ride on a solid malty body. Minor flavors of wood and spice peek through. A bit of clove-like taste fades and a pleasant honey sweetness glides in.
Nice for a cool summer night on the beach!

On tap in Allagash tasting glass.
Appearance - nice looking, light golden yellow color with just a little cloudiness. ABout a half inch of foam that lasted.
Aroma - a little herbal note that seemed a little misplaced, but very faint. CItrus, yeast, sweet, some more tropical note, earthiness.
Taste - very nice and well balanced. Clean taste of citrus (lemony), tropical fruit, a little sweetness, some yeast notes. Earthiness tied it all together. The herbal notes in the aroma didn't seem to be in the taste.
Mouthfeel - crisp and dry, mildly astringent. Well-balanced, carbonated nicely - lively enough, but not too much. Smooth and easy drinking.
Overall, this was an enjoyable, refreshing take on the style that had good flavors that worked well together.

Pours a hazy gold color with a creamy white head. A swirl of the glass rejuvenates the head. Aroma is excellent with plenty of citrus fruit, hay, and strong peppery spice. Pepper comes through in the flavor. Medium bodied with a very dry mouthfeel. Not the most true-to-style saison (it could benefit from a little more funk), but an above average beer from an outstanding brewery.

Poured in oversize glass (Duvel chalice) to give all the room it needed for a full pour. And it filled it nearly to the top with a sheet white head and cloudy yellow body.
Nice spicy aroma with grounding wheat base and hints of fruitiness (that I anticipate to appear later).
Highly carbonated and softening it is, leading to an overall enjoyable feel. Complex drink with trails of flavors to follow depending on my level of focus and concentration for each drink. Quite drying indeed. Some fruit - of the citrus variety- but definitely not a fruit heavy drink. Solid wheat flavor and ample spiciness.
Good and solid saison. I wouldn't expect anything less from this brewery.
