Had this on tap at mama's crowbar, definitely a strong one at 13.5 abv. This is their base of their odyssey beer but aged in rum barrels instead of oak. I find this beer the better of the two. The rum adds such an interesting character to the beer, to me it's more interesting than bourbon barreled beers. Pours a nice chocolate brown, great malty aroma mixed with coffee, rum, wood. Tastes as good as it smells, comes on strong and fast, big upfront rum taste that mellows out to malts, coffee, vanilla with a finishing taste of caramelized wood. Loved this beer, sad there is so little of it left according to the allagash guys.

Great dark beer with a light coconut body and mild barrel finish. Nice balance with a slight porter style body. Odyssey aged in New England Distilling Eight Bell rum barrels give a new twist on an already great beer. You would never know it was 13.4% abv.
