FARM TO FACE was brewed as a pale ale and fermented in stainless with our house yeast. After primary fermentation, pediococcus and lactobacillus were added along with 3lbs of peaches per gallon. Ten months later, the finshed beer is bright amber in color with peach, graham cracker and green apple in the aroma. Drinking this medium bodied beer is like biting into a juicy peach with tartness throughout. The finish has a long lasting peachyness.

Everything I want in a fruited sour. Pretty much perfect.

Allagash Farm to Face, bottled on June 6, 2016.
The pour is a deep gold, a bit of head initially the leaves a nice ring and some islands.
For an 8 year old beer, there is no smell of oxidation. It's got a mild Allagash wild funk, sweet cracker, green apple, and some peach.
The taste is predominatly wild ale initially, but the peach comes in a bit jam-like after a few sips. Apple is certainly present. A little mineral saltiness is a bit of a surprise. Nice oakiness, moderately funky. There's a Graham cracker-like taste that lends some sweetness.
Feel is light and amazingly bright for the age. The tartness is significant but not aggressive - has fruit acidity and a sharper tartness I associate with the process. Fairly dry finish, lively yet not overcarbonated.
Well, another one I wish I'd had fresh(er), but I think the main impact of time here has been a melding of flavors, maybe less peach impact. It's still very good.

POP! Wonderful strong cork pop on this bottle. Bubbles dissipate fast with some carb left which lingered for 10-15 minutes. Orange hazy pour with floating debris. Applesauce and peachy aroma. I'll say the peach flavor is mostly overwhelmed by the tartness. Puckers the mouth like a sour candy. Very sweet, then replaced by very sour but very full flavor.

Excellent sour ale with a hint of peach. Peach is such a delicate flavor but this is really balanced. The peach is never going to be super strong but you do get the flavor and aroma of fresh Maine peaches. Allagash's sour beers (and others) are so well done.

From the bottle, pours a clear golden orange color with visible and audible carbonation. A modest head quickly dissipates.
Funky and rustic aromas impart tartness. Notes of sour peaches, green apple and a sweet cracker malt base.
Very tart with flavors of peaches, green apples, lemons and vinous flavors. Medium body with a lively and champagne like carbonation. The malts solidly hold things together with flavors of cracker and wheat. The mouthfeel is acidic and mouth puckering; very refreshing overall. The finish is bone dry and intensely tart.
Fantastic beer. Mouth puckering tartness along with tasty fruity flavors. It feels like an authentic Belgian Lambic. I would love to have again.

2019 vintage
L -- Pours a slightly hazy golden straw body with 4+ fingers of dense white head produced with gentle pour. Great retention and lacing
S -- Nice balance of sweet juicy peach, lemony acetic lacto tartness, and some pedio-driven funk. Not super complex, but that's ok
T -- Lemon warheads, unripe yellow peach, green apple, bit of oaky astringency (although I don't think they barrel age this?), hint of wet hay. Quite tart
F -- Medium- mouthfeel, well carbonated. A little overly puckering from the sourness but has a nice softness from the natural carbonation
O -- For the $14/13oz pricing, this could definitely be better. It's a bit one-dimensional in its aggressive tartness, as many of these lacto-forward American wilds are. Based on prior reviews and my own prior experience with fruited wilds, drink this fresh.

Bottled June 6, 2016. Cost $13.99 (ouch). Poured with little head. Nose was decent but I didn't get a lot or any peach. Taste was better balanced than most American sours that are just that - sour, for sour sake. Refreshing but could use a bit more malt balance for my taste.

12.7 fl oz yielded 8 after the bottle Explosion upon uncorking and covering a good deal of the surrounding area. Open it over your sink. 4/25/2019 bottling date. Appearance is a cloudy orange, no head. Aroma is sour/pear/cider/ peaches. Taste is right in line, very acidic. Mouthfeel is medium, carbonation high. Something happened in the bottle, absolutely too much pressure. Taste is pretty good notwithstanding.
