10 oz. pour into a tulip at Barcade, Philly.
A- Hazy golden body. Thin white head leaves a little lacing.
S- Quite fruity, with the Belgian yeast coming out. A little bit of an earthy, booze hint as well.
T- A dry earthiness, woody hint is rather apparent, along with a very sweet fruit and booze combination. I think the aging brings out the grain in the flavor as well.
M- Pretty light body. Easy to drink and bubbly; champagne-esque.
O- Pretty yummy. I think the barrel aging really brings out some new attributes to the traditional Tripel.

Purchased at Beach Front Liquor, San Clemente CA
Bottled October 25, 2013
Popped and poured into an Allagash Chalice
A: clear amber-honey color, effervescent with a 1.5 inch head. Settled to .25 inch and retained as I allowed the beer to warm slightly. Quite beautiful.
N: roasted malt slightly sweet, hard to sense any bourbon. Not what I expected, very soft of the nose. Pleasant.
T: HUGE burst of flavor on initial taste. A super-intensified version of the nose. Sweet caramel malt on the tongue with unmistakable whiskey tones and yeast. Truly dramatic to sip. Bourbon lingers on the palette. Mouthfeel a little bubbly, I think I would love to try something like this with a heavier body. But it definitely holds up.
This is a must-try for even those not thrilled with this style. I'm hooked already.
