A beautiful golden honey color with a light head.
Smells sour and clean.
At first its sweet followed by a very slight sour second taste which is then finished with a bitter maltiness. Bananas. Cloves. Black bread. Bourbon.
Very viscous and oily. Heavy and thick on the tongue.
It grew on me. Very complex and layered flavors make this a joy to drink. The 11% also goes easily unnoticed unless you actively think about it.

A: Clear filtered gold with a softness to it, a fair amount of champagne like carbonation, a finger of stark white head. Nice lacing.
S: Tripel all the way. A sweetness, Belgian yeasts, coriander and offal in a Blue Ribbon way. Light notes of bubble gum and emptied shot gun cartridges just shot. Vanilla? Perhaps but muted in the sort of way you never think of vanilla being in chocolate cake but its there. Coconut (as said on the label) perhaps, as its in a lot of d shelved foods as coconut oil but but goes unnoticed as its mild.
T: Here it comes. Wow. The flavours of a great Tripel – the Belgian yeasts, coriander and fruity flavours are there but mild due to aging, and the lovely bourbon barrels come in strong. Definite woodiness, bourbon, and a softened coconut feel, creamy and smooth and yes vanilla notes. A fair sweetness is there, but not syrupy.
M: Light and smooth, good rich foamy, powdery dry carbonation.
O: Excellent brew. Was questioning it on the nose, but overwhelmed on the flavor. Bought at Greenlife Asheville, drank on the beach at Deerfield Beach, FL, July 17th, 2014.
