On tap at Max's today. Served in a goblet. Listed at 12%
A: Light yellow with great clarity. Thin white head that slowly recedes leaving some lace.
S: Spicy as hell with a lot of pepper and clove. Bourbon is hardly detectable but is present in the back
T: Starts off rather spicy and herbal with a lot of pepper and rosemary-like flavors. Bourbon comes through mildly on the dry finish, along with alcohol. Alcohol is a lot more noticeable as this warms up
M: Light with pleasant carbonation but the spiciness and the alcohol heat take away from this beer.
D: Glad i got to try this - wasn't in a hurry to drop $12+ for this one and glad i didn't
Serving type: on-tap

A: Clear filtered gold with a softness to it, a fair amount of champagne like carbonation, a finger of stark white head. Nice lacing.
S: Tripel all the way. A sweetness, Belgian yeasts, coriander and offal in a Blue Ribbon way. Light notes of bubble gum and emptied shot gun cartridges just shot. Vanilla? Perhaps but muted in the sort of way you never think of vanilla being in chocolate cake but its there. Coconut (as said on the label) perhaps, as its in a lot of d shelved foods as coconut oil but but goes unnoticed as its mild.
T: Here it comes. Wow. The flavours of a great Tripel – the Belgian yeasts, coriander and fruity flavours are there but mild due to aging, and the lovely bourbon barrels come in strong. Definite woodiness, bourbon, and a softened coconut feel, creamy and smooth and yes vanilla notes. A fair sweetness is there, but not syrupy.
M: Light and smooth, good rich foamy, powdery dry carbonation.
O: Excellent brew. Was questioning it on the nose, but overwhelmed on the flavor. Bought at Greenlife Asheville, drank on the beach at Deerfield Beach, FL, July 17th, 2014.
