750mL into tulip. bottling September 14, 2013.
A: a hazy bright orange body. head is frothy and bright white. retention is good, thick clumps of lace left behind.
S: minor oak aroma. sweet unfermented sugars. fruity, apples especially. a relatively mild aroma.
T: a little bit of vanilla. pears. lots of oak, not nearly as much of the bourbon as I remember in the past. a little vinous. this thing is dangerously drinkable/smooth. the heat is seriously minimal. residual sweetness.
M: moderate carb, but mostly smooth. medium/full body.
D: goes down too easy. to, too easy. my one complaint is where is the bourbon? seems like they almost blended it out of the equation. otherwise a very drinkable, very smooth Belgian blond ale.
