Good stuff, and thanks to chonyr for bringing this out. A nice looking golden hued ale. A decent, almost tight off white head formed on the pour.
Some golden cake, a touch of phenolics, cinnamon, clove, banana, as well as a good dose of caramel and vanilla.
No real surprises here in the taste. A rich golden ale with some oak and bourbon to compliment it. Reminiscent in some ways of the 08 AS, although nowhere near as malty.
Medium in body, smnooth and slightly creamy in feel. Almost dry, and the balance comes from the nice touch of bourbon barrel aging.
A tasty big brew. Nice use of barrel aging with a nice and subtle kiss of bourbon that never gets in your face. Recommended, and something i would love to drink again someday.
