Poured beautiful, cloudy golden color with a nice head which quickly died down to a thin lacing around the glass. Very nice smell of peach and oak. First glass was bitter peach flavor on front, with bourbon coming through on back end. Second glass was much less peach flavor and much, much stronger bourbon. Not sure how long bottle had been on the shelf, but it would have benefitted from gentle swirling before opening to mix up the flavors. Good carbonation. This is a beer to be sipped slowly just as you would with a glass of bourbon.
Overall, hard to determine the true characteristics of this beer as the flavors seemed to separate in the bottle, heavier bourbon taste at the bottom and the fruit at the top. Recommend swirling your bottle before opening for a better experience.

Bottling date of March 22, 2013. Poured into goblet.
A-A nice burnt orange body with great clarity. The head was a pinkies width at best with minimal head retention.
S-Oak, peach, vanilla with a overall earthiness to it. None of them are really pronounced but all melded together.
T-Really enjoy the flavor of this beer. Up front you definitely get a fruitiness of peach and mango with the vanilla coming in after it. The bourbon barrels come in with the dry finish. The barrel aging is more subtle than I was expecting but fucking awesome none the less.
M-On the heavier side for the body thats broken up by the high carbonation. Dryer finish.
O-So this beer was worth the $18 after all. Enjoyed it alot. Wish the price tag was less so I could drink this more often. I do not know the ratio of how much they blend the fresh triple with the barrel aged tripel but being that the bourbon/vanilla/aged characteristics are so subtle I would say a majority of this beer is the fresh tripel. Not complaining at all because I really enjoy this beer. I will have to grab this years and see how it taste.
