Finally cracked open my lone bottle of Curieux, bottled in October, 2011. Sharing with the girlfriend, and we're using Rodenbach Grand Cru tulips.
Pours with not-much-head, atypical of the style. The color is a warm, glowing, but hazy, goldenrod. When I swirl the glass, the bubbles jump to the surface and retain themselves nicely. And, now that I've done that, the head won't leave. Foam is an eggshell white in color. 4.0
Afraid to start nosing this just yet, as it's much too cold. But, I can't help myself. I notice a nice dusty yeast aroma with some banana, apricot, and pear. Just the subtle hint of oak, more so than bourbon, in the aroma that has me enraptured. It smells sweet, fruity, and a little floral. Prickly little alcohol note in the end. 4.0
A spice element gets the palate going, exposing the whiskey and providing flavors of white pepper, coriander, and a hint of dill. Banana, white wine, and pear revealed in an almost farmhouse-style yeast. A little powdery and yielding floral notes of fresh lilac. The bourbon comes through first as a sting in the back of the throat, and then mellows out with a warm finish peppered with American oak and corn mash. This tripel scales down the breadiness of the malts. Less obvious notes of sugar cookie, candi sugar, and white tea. Pretty fantastic, especially considering that it does not drink like an 11% beer. 4.5
Well-hidden alcohol. Medium body with some glaze. Very light carb with latent activity. 4.0
I'm impressed with this American tripel. Finally, a beer that is not staying true to standard Belgian brewing format AND is delicious, complex, and well-done, all at the same time. Allagash will always be one of my favorite American breweries paying homage to Belgium. Another exceptional brew from them that I'll be seeking out again in the future. 4.5

Appearance: It has a nice hazy golden/orange color to it. It has a nice off-white head that dies down moderately and leaves some some lacing.
Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of Belgian yeast, banana, coconut, vanilla, spices and woody oak.
Taste: Like the aromas, it has some Belgian yeast, coconut, banana, faint spices, some vanilla, woody oak and faint bourbon.
Mouthfeel: It has a med-high carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.
Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied by good flavors and aromas.
