Notes/Commercial Description:
Allagash Curieux was the first foray into barrel aging. Curieux is made by aging our Tripel Ale in Jim Beam bourbon barrels for eight weeks in our cold cellars. The aged beer is then blended back with a portion of fresh Tripel. The resulting beer is soft with coconut and vanilla notes, with hints of bourbon.

Thank you Sunswick for having the good stuff on tap.

A-light amber in color with just a bit of head and minimal lacing

S-bourbon, apricots, oak, and caramel.

T-same but a hot alcohol taste that hits in the middle, not bad to have it there.

M-a bit syrupy and slightly undercarbonated.

O-I really enjoy this stuff especially on tap. A real treat to have every one in awhile.

Serving type: on-tap

look: 3.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.5

Appearance: Hazy straw color. Pours 1 inch of white head that fades quickly. Minimal lacing.

Smell: bourbon, citrus, brett, funky, oak, vanilla, boozy as it warms.

Taste: Bourbon, vanilla, oak.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, good carbonation, crisp.

Overall: A decent beer. The barrell and bourbon notes overpower the more subtle complexities. Drinkability is pretty high.

Serving type: bottle
