Poured from a 750mL brown bottle into a Chimay chalice. Bottled in April 2011 per label. Purchased at Wine Warehouse (Charlottesville, VA) for $16.99.
A: Slightly murky peach with thick, foamy cap of off-white head with thick drape of lacing.
S: Pineapple, coconut, and vanilla are most prominent the nose. Some pale malt sweetness comes through but the big 3 dominate.
T: The flavor introduces more sweet pale maltiness but the pineapple and coconut flavors are strong and combine with vanilla to give a very rounded profile. The yeast comes through more with warming and provide some fruit, estery contributions.
M: Medium-full bodied with mildly dry finish and pale malt and pineapple citrus aftertaste.
O: Definitely a unique and interesting beer. The pineapple-coconut combo is new and the crafting can't be beat. A great beer, but the price tag is steep. There are other beers I enjoy as much or more that are more reasonable. I did really like beer and it is a good occasional treat.

A - Pours golden with a few fingers of white head.
S - Smells of caramel, vanilla and bourbon.
T - Banana and bourbon. Finishes with quite a bit of alcohol flavor.
M - The body is quite heavy but it is balanced out well with a high carbonation.
D - A heavy tripel and a mighty tasty sipper. The many layers of smell and flavor make this a very enjoyable drink. This is probably my favorite of Allagash's barrel series.
