This strong golden ale is marked by passion fruit and herbal notes in the aroma, with suggestions of banana and honey in the complex palate. The Tripel has a remarkably long and smooth finish.

Tonight was a good night. "Why," you ask? Because I discovered this beer and I discovered 2 hours of Kids in the Hall on Comedy Central. While the Allagash Tripel was all spiced cream and fruits (mostly bananas and peaches), Kids in the Hall is Funny. While Allagash is made in Maine, the Kids in the Hall are Canadian. While this beer's beautiful bright golden amber body sparkled with constant effervescence and the thick, creamy white head sheeted and even chunked the side of the glass, it was not funny. At least not in the cross-dressing, irreverent, absurdist humor way that the Kids in the Hall were. Damn this is a fine beer, probably my favorite in the style. True connoisseurs of the style would probably disagree but I like the smoothness, the lack of the cottony mouth feel and harsh yeast-spiciness of many of the real-deal tripels. True connoisseurs of comedy, however aren’t allowed to disagree with me that Bruce McCullough was possibly one of the funniest men of all time.

My wife and I both thought there was a "bad beer" smell (Not skunked, but like a lower end beer). We also both experienced an unpleasant, especially bitter aftertaste that lingered after a smooth beginning. It is possible that we got a bad batch, so we will definitely try again. However, if this is the product in all its glory, the Dubbel is much better.

A: Solid amber color with a decent head when poured from a bottle.

S: hints of fruit with spices.

T: Delicious. Solid beer all around. Have already had the White, Double, and Double Reserve. This is quite good with a light texture and great taste.

M: sufficiently carbonated and light on the tongue, hints of spices and fruits. Delicious. Have already compared with the White, Dubel, Dubel Reserve, and Tripel today.

O: Solid beer. Would be happy to drink in just about any situation. Pretty fantastic.
