A 750 ml bomber with pouring instructions and a loud pop when uncorking went a long way towards reminding me of the sampling occasions of several wonderful original Tripels from Belgium. The body was cloudy yellowish orange and a lot of foam formed atop it in the tulip. The smell was a tropical forest full of flowering trees. The flavor contained banana, oranges, white pepper, cookie dough, and lemon juice. The clean and majestic taste avoided the one flaw I've dreaded in American versions of the style, that of being too sweet. The dusty, yeasty dryness was quite welcome and refreshing. Soothingly rich in the mouth, and well carbonated, so resounding burps abounded. The label says that this is well suited for cellaring, and it would definitely make an interesting experiment.

A - cloudy golden body with a towering head when first poured that shrinks but sticks around

N - all I get from this is a breast yeast aroma. Not bad but I was expecting more fruit

M - creamy carbonated feel

T - again, bready yeast but I can also pick up some banana flavor. I also get some tart sour favors on the finish

O - this was my first tripel. I liked it. Maybe I was expecting too much but I wanted more fruit tones. I'll have to try some European variations for comparison but overall a nice brew that I wouldn't mind having again.
