This strong golden ale is marked by passion fruit and herbal notes in the aroma, with suggestions of banana and honey in the complex palate. The Tripel has a remarkably long and smooth finish.

A - poured a hazy deep straw color with a vibrant 1/2 finger white head

S - deep fruity notes banana heavy with clove, sweet malt notes, very pleasant, no harsh or off notes.

T - taste is very similar to the nose. A nice fruit forward banana and clove yeast character. Some biscuity malt and finishes nice a dry. Very complex taste, one of the better triples I've had.

M - medium to syrupy, ample carb, for 9% it is very smooth.

O - ubiquitous allagash triple, brewed in my home town, at all the stores I frequent but i always pass it over, I will stop making that's silly mistake. This is one of the best triples I have had. From my experience the style generally is more try and more attenuated. This is sweeter, huge flavors, and the just delicous.

Drinking the alias (or new name) "reserve, batch #199"

A: cloudy golden yellow with good amount of head that is slow to dissipate, light lacing
S: Belgian yeast, a light nose of a tart apple or some other non-citrus fruit (apricot, maybe). I also get some banana.

M: Carbonation is prevalent, sustaining the head and visible, and also felt on the tongue. The sugary coating in the mouth after a taste lingers for a while, any dryness seems to stem from the releasing of the carbonation
T: starts with almost a soda taste, like a lightly syrup-ed Sprite (guessing than means the tartness is "limon"). It is drier than a soda and not as sweet (probably obvious), and does have a hint of banana (which comes on a bit stronger as the carbonation dies). There is also more depth to the beer, I think the hops peeks through a bit with a woody feel.

O: quite a strong offering, although it likely won't blow your socks off in any way. Very drinkable, smooth, and a subtle depth as explained.

A: lightly hazy honey - golden. 4 finger plus, frothy white, foamy head. lots o bubbles.
S: takes me straight to a brewery - Belgium yeast, fermenting goodness. big banana, apricot fruit, clove.
T: follows nose - sweet, big banana, apricot fruit, w. clove spice. bit of pepper/rye on the finish.
M: medium body, good carbonation. crisp.
O: well crafted. style is a bit too sweet for my sweet spot, so nice to bottle share, as this is a well crafted brew meant to be appreciated. but unlike liberace, I do not believe that too much of a good thing is wonderful - its simply too much. *F yeah, I just incorporated liberace into a BA review!!

batch 193. 750 mL bottle.
