A - Looks very good for a Witbier. Not particularly cloudy, which might be the only thing that would give it more points in my book. Beautiful color; head residue was surprisingly clean on the glass.
S - Clean, but unremarkable. I couldn't detect any specific Witbier notes; a general aroma of citrus, but that was about it.
T - Bright, forward on the tongue. Citrus, of course; no typical banana flavors, though. Honestly, this is probably the simplest Allagash I've tried. That's not to say the taste is bad at all. It's a very price-accessible example of the genre, just nowhere near the best.
M - Forward on the tongue and in the mouth. A little light.
O - A very good beer, but not the best example of its class. If you like Witbiers and Weissbiers, try it out. I often keep a Bavarian Weissbier on hand, and this ranks above some of them, below others. Also probably my least favorite Allagash. It also happens to be one of their lightest offerings, flavor-wise.
I've tried this both in Spiegelau tulip and wheat beer glasses. I recommend the wheat beer glass - but I also recommend drinking this in the Summer (preferably on a porch or deck).
I'm going to have to retry this beer in the Summer, because in a CT "Spring," it just isn't what I want. That shouldn't be a slam on the beer; I want something thicker, slower, maltier. It's still a very tasty beer.

A - poured a very pale straw, very light color. Sight haze. Head was massive frothy large bubbled 2 fingers, dissipated to a nice soapy froth, although was always lively did not leave much lacing.
S - pungent banana and fruity yeast Esthers dominate the nose. Slight citrus and herbal notes follow, coriander, anise, and clove... Tons of fresh breadyness round out the nose, smells fresh and inviting.
T - I feel the taste follows the nose exactly, no surprises here... Tons of fruityness from the yeast with lots of banana, herbal notes prevalent with a good amount of citrusy coriander, still getting a slight licorice-esque anise and some clove. This taste is supported by a great bready biscuity wheat malt that is crisp and refreshing. Finishes with a clean citrusy bitter.
M - great mouthfeel, very refreshing. Crisp and dry with a good amount of body to the mouthfeel from the wheat.
O - one of the beers that got me into craft back in the day, over the years this hasn't changed and is still just as good today. Overall all just a perfect example of the style to me. Looks great, smells and tastes phenomenal and is really crisp and thirst quenching.
