Poured from 12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: hazy light straw color with a finger of white foam head. Nice and light ... not sure what else to look for in a witbier.
Smell: nice and wheaty, citrusy and a little chalky. As far as citrus goes, the aroma tends more toward lemon than orange, and I don't get any of the coriander which is quite common in the style. There is also something else ... do I smell banana? It does smell quite refreshing.
Taste: extremely wheaty and refreshing. Citrus still abounds with a tip to the lemon, though I do taste a little bit of coriander here. Truth be told, this tastes more like a good hefeweizen than a witbier. Still, quite tasty.
Mouthfeel: lightish-medium body with a good level of carbonation. Not a ton of creaminess, but the overall experience is quite smooth.
Drinkability: the strong point of Allagash White. While I feel like it was more of a hefeweizen than a witbier, I still find it extremely refreshing and drinkable. I would session tons of this stuff were it not so pricey.

Appearance has a hazy, honey-colored beer with a small white head that fades fast and leaves just a little lace behind.
Smells include fruity notes of bananas, coriander spices, and some barnyard yeast aromatics. Very nice nose
The taste is partly dry but also has some sweetness to it from the fruits. Flavors include green grapes, for a white wine taste, plus citrus fruit such as lemons and oranges.
The high carbonation makes for a prickly mouthfeel, with a body somewhere between light and medium. The finish is semi-sweet with green grapes, but also some tartness of lemon.
Overall a very enjoyable beer; it's interesting how the different flavors play out for a sweet and dry aspect at the same time.
Thanks to Treyliff for this one!
