I'll drink this one whenever I'm in the mood for a white ale. It's not my favorite style, but Allagash does a damn good job with this. Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Looks like your standard white ale with a lacy head. The perfect 110 degrees-and-I-need-a-beer beer.
The smell of this one is interesting - as the bottle says, this is a spicy beer. There's some lemon in there too which adds a great dimension to the brew. You know it's going to be refreshing before you take your first sip.
Taste wise, it's very crisp. In small amounts, its very lemony. A larger sip brings out the other, spicy flavors. Theres a bit of orange peel in there too. As I said before, I'm not a big fan of the white ales but this is quite tasty.
I'm not sure I would drink a bunch of these at once, but for those hot summer days this would be perfect. Drinkability would be a bit higher if I was more of a fan of this style.

A - poured a very pale straw, very light color. Sight haze. Head was massive frothy large bubbled 2 fingers, dissipated to a nice soapy froth, although was always lively did not leave much lacing.
S - pungent banana and fruity yeast Esthers dominate the nose. Slight citrus and herbal notes follow, coriander, anise, and clove... Tons of fresh breadyness round out the nose, smells fresh and inviting.
T - I feel the taste follows the nose exactly, no surprises here... Tons of fruityness from the yeast with lots of banana, herbal notes prevalent with a good amount of citrusy coriander, still getting a slight licorice-esque anise and some clove. This taste is supported by a great bready biscuity wheat malt that is crisp and refreshing. Finishes with a clean citrusy bitter.
M - great mouthfeel, very refreshing. Crisp and dry with a good amount of body to the mouthfeel from the wheat.
O - one of the beers that got me into craft back in the day, over the years this hasn't changed and is still just as good today. Overall all just a perfect example of the style to me. Looks great, smells and tastes phenomenal and is really crisp and thirst quenching.
