Notes/Commercial Description:
Our interpretation of a traditional Belgian wheat beer. Brewed with a generous portion of wheat and spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel, this beer is fruity, refreshing and slightly cloudy in appearance.

12 oz into belgian flute

A - Cloudy yellow with a finger of frothy white head. Nice retention, the head lasts for ages. Nice bubbles rising up from the bottom of the glass.

S - Clove, Belgian yeast, touch of banana. Aroma is crisp and pleasant. Perfect for a witbier.

T - Great subtle spice. Clove, yeast, wheat. So perfectly crisp and refreshing. Touch of banana. Sweet but not cloying at all, the beer is light and invigorating.

M - Light body, crisp bubbles and light, slightly drying.

O - This is my ideal witbier. I compare all others in the style to this beer. I love to drink this beer. It is the most refreshing beer I can think of, and is complex and delicious as any other. I love it so much in summer time, but I'll drink it any day.

12oz bottle poured into a pilsner glass. Dating is sketchy, but I think it was bottled in December 2011.

A: Hazy golden yellow. One-finger white head that was long lasting. Lots of fizzy bubbles. Tons of lacing throughout.

S: Some perfumy hops (Saaz maybe?), some banana, coriander, and grain/biscuit. Quite aromatic.

T: Not as bold as the aroma. Grassy hops, light banana/coriander, slight bitterness and grain. Nicely balanced.

M: Light body, fizzy carb, and dry from start to finish. Super drinkable.

O: This was very light and refreshing. Would make a great warm-weather drinker.

On tap poured into a shaker pint glass. Beer poured a pale cloudy yellow with a finger of foamy head. Good amount of lacing as the head dissipates and you drink from the glass, with tons of carbonation streaming up from the bottom of the glass.

Nose is lemon, pear, and apple esters, coriander, biscuit malt sweetness.

Taste follows the nose, leads with some sweet lemon, pear and apple esters, followed by a bit of spice and the biscuit malt. Finishes with a lightly lingering floral note.

Light body but creamy due to the carbonation and yeast. Refreshing and easy to drink.

This is probably one of my favorite Witbiers. Bottle-fermented, this brew pours a cloudy off-white, typical of the genre. It has a yeasty bouquet the prepares you for what follows. The mouth feel is slightly chunky and the taste is bready with the distinctiveness of the wheat coming through along with fruit tones like banana. This is a very well-balanced and enjoyable wit. Highly recommended.
