Notes/Commercial Description:
Our interpretation of a traditional Belgian wheat beer. Brewed with a generous portion of wheat and spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel, this beer is fruity, refreshing and slightly cloudy in appearance.

12oz Bottle - from Whole foods san francisco for 2.49$ - thanks to j for this one

Appearance - Hazy yellow colour with a large size fizzy/frothy white coloured head. There is an above average amount of carbonation and there is some faint lacing. The head lasted for over 5 minutes..

Smell - Lemon, grains, yeast, coriander/cloves, a tiny bit of funk

Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste lemons, floral notes, and grains/bread. There is also some very light yeast/spice. It ends with a grainy aftertaste with a light spicy/floral taste.

Overall - Very light and the flavours are fairly subdued. The mouthfeel is perfectly fitting for the style, very light and lively. I was expecting a little more taste, but the flavours are delicious. I've been wanting to try this one for a while and while it isn't mind blowing, I can see why it's one of the higher rated beers within the style.

a: cloudy straw yellow body. fingers worth of creamy bright white head displays better than average staying power.

s: wheat, yeast and corriander stand out the most. in the background subtle hints of pepper, lemon and orange help blend this one together.

t: everything i could smell i can taste. the main difference being that the yeast plays a bigger role.

m: medium light bodywith great carbonation. crisp and refreshing with a spicy inish, but not overpowering on the spice.

o: one of the best whites out there.

Served in an Oly Pilsner glass- tall and perfect for this beer.

The beer poured a pale lemon color with a two fingered head wafting a lemony clove smell- a good introduction to the beer.

The mouth feel was refreshingly tart and tingled the back of my tongue.

The main course: a rich smooth clove finish. As the beer warmed there was less clove in the palate with an added hint of chocolate lemon.

The remaining bottle poured a three fingered head, the mouth feel was more crisp, and the clove-lemon finish was more pronounced. This was probably due to the yeast settling in the bottle.

Overall- a great beer.

Enjoyed in a pilsner glass

A: pours a very hazy straw yellow color with a finger of pure white fluffy head which lingers for just a short time before dissipating, leaves
S: kind of smells like rubber, like fresh clean rubber not burning rubber, nice bready notes and a slight spice
T: begins with a slight lemon zest then moves into a great bready note which lingers on the palate long afterwards, i didnt see the banana peel and spice notes that that often see in other witbeers butt i think that helped this one to smooth right out, overall a delight to drink and infinitely drinkable
M: medium carbonation tingle which is slightly sharp but definitely brief, before backing off into a silky smooth taste which leaves the mouth feeling like there is a thin layer of foam on the mouth
O: the is most definitely the best witbeer out there, easily sessionable and yet so complex and delicious

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass
A: Fairly bright yellow with a 1/2 finger head that fades quickly. Fairly heavy carbonation.
S: Wow. Like walking into a Penzy's spice store that's attached to a bakery baking fresh bread. Tough to pin down anything specific but it's aromatic, complex and balanced.
T: Wheat and spices, with a crisp finish.
M: Light but crisp with pleasant light carbonation.
O: A great beer to drink as it starts to warm up for spring. Light yet complex. I wish it were distributed to Ohio.

A: Swirled up to yield a cloudy, yellow, golden looking beer, with a creamy head.

S: Spicy, sweet, citrusy.

T: The same as the aroma, except now the coriander is coming through a bit on top of the yeast dimension. This has a nice sweet finish and is quite refreshing.

M: Light, crisp, medium high carbonation, drinkable.

O: This beer is greater than the sum of parts and is a very well made example of the style. Solid, no flaws and easy drinking.

12oz bottle into a snifter

A: Pours a very clear light golden yellow color with a finger of white foam that recedes to a very thin film.

S: A strong wheaty aromas starts with a funky mustiness. Citrus, particularly lemon is in the background.

T: Similar to the aroma, wheat and citrus are out front. I now get a spiciness in the background that's quite nice.

M: Quite light with strong carbonation.

O: An easy drinking and funky wit. Quite tasty.

Served on tap at Cork City in Hoboken, NJ

A: Pours a very cloudy pale straw yellow in color with some light visible carbonation along the sides of the glass. The beer has a finger tall white head which quickly reduces to a thin layer covering the entire surface of the beer with a slightly thicker ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate lacing is observed.

S: This beer smells like I expect and want a witbier to smell - lots of notes of banana + clove, along with some hints of lemon, and some Belgian yeast spiciness (maybe coriander).

T: The flavor of this beer follows the aroma, starting with a light wheat flavored body with some banana + clove. Next you get the citrus (more like an orange rind) and a little lemon. Finally the beer finishes with the spicy Belgian yeast (coriander and pepper) and a very light bitterness that does not linger very long).

M: Light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Almost fizzy.

O: Very refreshing and super easy to drink, this beer reminds of summers watching baseball and grilling in the yard. This is a great summer session beer and a very nice example of the style. I have had this beer many times and likely will continue to have it regularly this summer as well.
