Our interpretation of a traditional Belgian wheat beer. Brewed with a generous portion of wheat and spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel, this beer is fruity, refreshing and slightly cloudy in appearance.

Very strong flavor. Best used for cooking. Made a braised chicken dish and a kielbasa with apples recipe that was out of this world. I tend to enjoy milder tasting beers. This Allagash White was brewed with spices and was exactly what I was looking for in a cooking base.

Got this on tap at a Manhattan burger joint.

Poured to a slightly pale opaque orange color with little head--very nice to behold.

Smelled acidic, tangy and citrusy--it's about what I'd expect.

Tasted nice--slightly bitter to start with a smooth finish followed by a hint of sweetness. The citrus (especially orange) flavor comes out, and the bitterness is not overpowering.

For a white, it's unusually creamy and has substantial body, yet it's crisp and doesn't bite back. I'm happy with the mouthfeel.

Overall it's one of the better whites I've had--I'll enjoy this again.

12oz into a dfh glass

a exteremely light yelloe, a pale pale yellow. possiblay the lightest beer ive ever drank. very cloudy, small white head, dissipates fast. left a large white crown around the glass.

s lemons, yeast light grains

t very light taste. the beginning is fresh lemons that enters into a yeasty middle and end. the aftertaste is fresh grains. a very refreshing beer.

m thin and almost crisp. light prickly carbonation

o a great white beer. not my favorite style but it is very well done.

Looks great. big foamy head with lots of sticky lacing, and a hazy body, which i actually prefer for the style, plus i pour aggressively so it's going to happen if it is not filtered.
nose is decent, a lot of lemon is there, it has a slight astringency , with some clove notes also among many spices.
Coriander and lemon off the front, clove, wheat and yeast are working together and equally, creamy full body and low to moderate carbonation.

Solid, easily available and cheap.

Pours an almost opaque color, fairly pale but pleasant looking. Lacing is light but noticeable and a film remains throughout. The smell is very sweet, of fruit - especially bananas and something else I am unable to distinguish. The smell is extremely satisfying. There is barely a hint of alcohol at all and there are notes of banana and cloves and even a little caramel. Despite the sweetness there is a fine balance with the hops. The carbonation is just right - not overpowering and not flat. One of the best beers I've had recently and Allagash White certain gives many European whites a run for their money.
