Notes/Commercial Description:
Our interpretation of a traditional Belgian wheat beer. Brewed with a generous portion of wheat and spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel, this beer is fruity, refreshing and slightly cloudy in appearance.

Appearance - Pours a bright, pale yellow color with a thin white, frothy head that dissipates instantly. Leaves a very nice lacing.

Smell - With the first whiff, it smells a little sour.. After a few more I pick up coriander, clove, citrus, and the sour yeast.

Taste - Citrus, coriander, cloves, orange peel, a little tangy, and slightly bitter. Leaves an herbal flavor in your mouth.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with high carbonation.

Overall - If you like spicy beers then this is for you.

Allagash White is a light yellow color that is very cloudy. The head was only about 1/4 of an inch and the lacing is above average.

The smell is subtle yet unique. Wheat and orange are the primary scents.

Taste is very nice! Really good balance of orange, wheat, spices (can't put my finger on them, maybe coriander) and a touch of lemon citrus at the end. The aftertaste is earthy and wheaty without being gritty or heavy.

The mouthfeel is very smooth, very crisp and both with minimal carbonation. The brew is very easy to drink and is very refreshing because of the orange and citrus flavor and the crispness of the beer.

Overall this beer is solid; nice smell to it, a strong and distinct flavor matched with a light feel. A must try!

Appearance - Pours a hazy pale yellow with strands of yeast floating freely around the glass. The head is white, about a finger thick and has average retention. Resulting lace is thick and sticky.

Smell - Pungent aromas fill the room as the beer is poured from bottle into glass. Notes of bubblegum and coriander spice, backed by a subtle wheat malt.

Taste - Follows the nose. Yeasty bubblegum matched with a strong coriander spice. Not especially bitter, with only hints of orange poking through, but well balanced regardless.

Mouthfeel - Light in body... almost watery. Carbonation leaves a nice tingle on the lips. The body leaves a little something to be desired.

Overall - A wonderful witbier from Allagash, though I think it could benefit from a body that's just a tad thicker... but that's a style flaw, IMO, more so than this particular brew.
