12.7 oz. bottle poured into an over-sized wine glass. Liquid comes out an autumn orange color, somewhat hazy, not as hazy as some other sours I've had before. Pale orange head, but it's more like fizz, not much of it and it goes away pretty quickly. Still there's some really good glass retention.

Smell is really good. Smells as if it would be acidic and tart. Smells like tart white grapes and quite a bit of oak. Some slight natural pumpkin and maybe some nutmeg. Earthy and some natural funk.

Taste is really good, I can see why people like sours after trying this. Pretty tart with some natural acidity. Almost a cranberry flavor but it has some really ripe lemon zest and maybe some lime peel as well, just not as sour as they are. There is some natural pumpkin flavor here as well, but again, not very strong. The oak is a dominant feature in the taste.

Mouthfeel is really good. The carbonation was good, better than I expected, thought it would be too flat, but it's almost fizzy. It's incredibly dry and tart, but has a sweetness to almost like a cranberry sauce if it were in liquid form. Super crisp with a nice dry, tart, and somewhat earthy finish. It's full bodied, the taste lingers for awhile after each sip. The pumpkin is dominant here in the mouthfeel, pumpkin beers always have a distinct mouthfeel and here's where the pumpkin qualities come out in my opinion. The drinkability is there, it's a sipper, but it goes pretty quickly. Solid all around brew from Allagash. I'm really not a big sour guy but this is a quality brew from Allagash, I can see why they people like it.

It pours cloudy orange with quickly dissipating white head. The nose is pumpkin, tart apricot, squash, earth, wood, light vanilla, coconut and faint sulfur. The taste is tart apricot, tangerine, white grape, sour pumpkin, saltiness, mild acidity, wood, earth, faint mustiness, subtle vanilla and touch of alcohol warmth with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and fine, carbonation. Pretty smooth, mellow, good depth of flavor and very drinkable.

Served from a 375ml bottle into a Crooked Stave Tulip. September 2011 bottle date.

Appearance- Hazy brownish/amber with zero head, but some decent lacing.

Smell- Molasses, squash of some sort probably pumpkin, bretty funk, some lemon and mild oak.

Taste- Orange/lemon, molasses and honey, light pumpkin-like flavor, brett-style funk.

Mouthfeel- Medium carbonated, medium tartness, sweeter and not dry.

Overall- This is so good. It's a new permawant. Might even be my new favorite Allagash.
