Indigenuts was the brain child of brewer (and cider enthusiast) Jared Carr. He propagated the yeast from his, many years old, cider press and decided to pitch it into some wort in a barrel. The result was somewhere between cider and beer, even though there was no apple juice added. Oh, and it is delicious.

These scores were taken from notes found from tasting this at the Extreme Beer Festival and which scores were never previously entered. Notes show that the overwhelming characteristic was an apple-grassy smell an flavor profile, that was a bit boozy but drinkable and different.

Had as one of my many tasting at the Novare Res Gasharoo

The color is golden pale with a thin lace that forms and covers the beer.

The aroma is a sour with hints of apples and malts

The taste is tart but smooth. The apple taste come through and the oak makes an appearance in the after taste. Not easy to compare to any other beer but is a wonderful beer

Reviewed from notes.

Pours a nice golden color with a good white head and a bit of lacing on the way down. The nose brings forward a good amount of cider plus some spice and nice notes of citrus peel. Flavor brings a bit of spice as well as some apples, orange, and a bit of white pepper. Mouthfeel is nice and crisp with good carbonation. Really a nice and unique beer all around; cheers to Allagash.
