On tap at Pizzeria Paradiso in Dupont Circle. Served in a tulip. Pours a fairly-clear golden color with a nice foamy white head. Some nice spots of lacing on the way down. The nose has a bit of peppery spice underneath some light tropical and orange-rind characteristics. Flavor has a bit of a malt base along with nice yeast presence. Good hops through the finish. A bit of bitterness, though most of the feel is classic tripel. Pretty good variation on the style; quite enjoyable and easy to drink.

A: pours a clear golden yellow with a finger of white head that fades into a thin layer with a little lacing.

S: Belgian spices and candy sugar up front followed by spicy, lemony, and herbal hop aromas.

T: spices here as well followed by sweet breads. The hops kick in with grassy, herbal, peppery flavors. The finish is slightly bitter.

M: medium-light body with lowish carbonation, this beer doesn't have too thick of a body but is a bit watery.

O: a pretty decent hoppy tripel overall. It's main flaw is being under-attenuated, but otherwise is good.

On tap at Boneyard Bistro in Sherman Oaks, CA.

Pours a slightly murky yellow with a foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Thick foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, yeast, and spices. The aromas get markedly better as the beer warms up. Taste is much the same with a slight tartness on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is easy to drink and pretty tasty.
