Golden Brett is a dark golden colored beer, brewed with Victory, 2-Row and Red Wheat malt. It was lightly hopped with a blend of Northern Brewer and Simcoe hops. The beer started it's primary fermentation in a stainless tank and finished fermentation in a 800 gallon oak foudre. The finished beer has fruity nose and flavors of citrus, apricot and bread crust. The mild tartness of the beer gives way to a long, clean finish.

Bottle from 2014.
Pours clear coppery-yellow with an inch-plus of white fluff with a stretch-pour. Retention and lacing are average. Apricot, pineapple, and apples in the nose. Light bodied with a limp mouthfeel. Metallic and fruity on the palate. Pennies with apples and nectarines. Finishes dry but juicy with lingering minerals.

Moderate pour yields a more than one inch white head over a golden body with some sticky lacing. Some real nice subdued funk and oak on the nose. Flavors of tartness and funk, with a bit of sweetness on the finish. Great mouthfeel and overall I could drink this for the rest of my life. Cheers to Allagash!

Golden color with a light haze. Lasting head, although it is small. NIce blanketing lace on the glass.
There's a sweet and treat smell.
The flavor mimics the smell but with far more complexity. The sourness dominates the flavor but there's a sweetness which cuts the tartness. The body is rich but this is counteracted by the higher carbonation. The finish is sour but not in a lip puckering way.
