A: Pours a dark brown, nearing black with ruby edges with 3+ fingers of tan head that bubbles down to a very thin cap

S: Lots of roasted malt up front along with some toffee and caramel sweetness, coffee, dark chocolate, and a very light hint of the blood oranges

T: Follows the nose. Starts off quite roasty with toffee, dark chocolate, coffee, and a light sweetness. Gets some bitter notes along with the blood oranges mid-way towards the end. Not huge notes, but it's there. Finishes with some char and a light lingering tingle from the oranges

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Nearing on thick

O: A nice porter with a twist from the blood oranges. They definitely come out more towards the end of the taste and leave a light bitterness and taste. Definitely not sweet orange-like, but more of the citrus bitterness. Easy to drink and certainly keeps you coming back to try to figure everything out. Solid choice for this years fluxus

look: 4.25 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.75

Appearance: Pours dark brown with 2 fingers of a khaki colored head. Body is opaque.

Smell: Roasted malt, cocoa, smoke, coffee, hint of caramel.

Taste: Noticeable acidic citrus upfront, before yielding to more flavors of roasted malt, earth, slight smoke, dark chocolate.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, carbonation borders on high. Drinkability is pretty high.

Overall: Really good porter. The blood oranges are subtle, but do add some additional complexity to the overall finished product. It's priced a bit high for what it is, but putting that aside, I'd have this again.
