Attractive hazy look of a Hefeweizen, with a decent foam in the tulip. Slurpy, sudsy mouthfeel with plenty of carbonation. Wheaty aroma.
Some sweet wheaty esters are nicely balanced with the rye flavor. A pleasant scratchy zing, but not as sharp or resiny as many other Rye Ales. The yeasty Belgian flavors add a nice dry touch. Very low bitterness but lots of taste.
This seems like a great idea, to mate the rye and Saison flavors. This one is done with some subtlety. I'd like to see more experimentation like this instead of the random flavor additives. On tap at the Salted Pig in Riverside, California.
