Very knowledgeable staff. Great selection and the tour was phenomenal... great brew... a bit pricy but it's worth it cause they make great beer. We went when they were under constriction and they were apologetic but it wasn't all that bad.. pretty big place for a craft brewery... lots of choices and curiox was one of them which was surprising... so good we bought a Bottle Allagash makes great beer... enough said

Nice, clean place. Large selection of brews and swag. The sour program here is on point, for sure! Super friendly staff too. Free beer flight to see what you might like.

One of my planned main stops on my Portland beer safari, and really glad I went...and took the tour. Tour guide (Paul) was just the perfect combo of knowledge, humor, raconteur...and ringmaster of the tour horde. That and some very tasty beers (White; Tiarna; Black and interlude) made for solid learning experience, nice behind the scenes lore about Allagash and a chance to mingle and make some new beer friends both during the tour...and then after when a sub-set of us ended up at Foundation across the road. One of the best tours I've taken.
Overall main room is very roomy but very crowded. Good big bar area...but again busy. Don't get me wrong...great place, but more bar and fun than place to talk and sip a few. And despite the craziness...everyone was happy to help, friendly...very good service.
Happy Halloween fun going on...and very nice lady walking around with free doughnuts. Unsure but might be from the cup cake food truck outside.
Can't say it's a downside because all the beers are good. But would have been nice to have more than 5 beers on tap.

Interior is really nice, clean, and the tour is super intensive and a great time.
You can sample beers just walking in and its free, get 4 samples that are decent sized, basically a free beer. Cool merch too. Staff are all friendly and relaxed as well.
Definately worth it if you are in the area, just make sure to schedule with the brewery in advance, I think you need reservations for the tour.

Visited and took a tour on a Saturday afternoon. Brewery was understandably busy and quite loud. Service was slightly overwhelmed, but friendly when finally flagged down.

Highlight of visit was the very impressive tour. I've visited/toured a dozen breweries from small to large, and this was probably tied for first. The guide was knowledgable and engaging. He answered my and everyone else's questions well. We saw the recently expanded brewhouse, the older two brewhouses, fermenters, bottling and kegging lines, and ended in the barrel aging room. Spending those last 15 minutes sampling their beers, asking questions and gawking at the barreled goodness was too much beergeeky fun.

The taproom only has 5 taplines, so it is somewhat limited and the pours are small, but they are giving out free beer so can't legitimately complain. They have a patio with tables, heaters (I hear it gets cold in Maine), and cornhole for those inclined to partake. Selection of beers for sale was good, though a tad limited given their size. Everything is incredibly fresh though and I suppose they just sell them too quickly.

I recommend stopping by if you're anywhere near them, and definitely do the tour.

Visited after a day or cruising around Portland and Southern Maine. Really gorgeous facility with plenty of parking and very easy to find. Found the staff to be a bit off putting and not that friendly. Nothing awful, just kind of standoffish and bored. Willing to chalk it up to someone having a bad day and would still recommend a visit if you are up there.

I've visited Allagash since around 1997 and their operation has always been very customer oriented. Their tour is worthwhile and the staff seem to really know their stuff. The beer is fantastic, particularly if you are interested in Belgian style beers. They have branched out in recent years and the selection has increased dramatically. The quality of the beer is outstanding if not phenomenal. I no longer live close to Allagash Brewing Company, however when I am in the area, I always stop in to say hello and pick up some beer. Can't be much better!

Room has a great layout and a great selection of beer to purchase. I purchased the Flexus 2015. The tour was insightful, we learned about their history and what their brewing process is like. At the end of the tour, there is a tasting in their barrel room! Four different brews. Nice explanation of their brewing process. Overall, a great time and a great place to visit!

One of our favorite stops in Maine. The staff has always been friendly and outgoing. Even when the room is packed it has always been service with a smile. When we've visited on slower days, the conversation is great as well. The people in the tasting room are knowledgeable about the beer. Sometimes the selection can be a little restrictive given the number of great beers Allagash has to offer, but that's a minor thing. Although the space is somewhat limited, there's the outdoor area and they seem to have taking care of the crowd down pretty well.

Hard to complain about four free samples. They provide nice descriptions of each beer. They showcased the range of styles they offer in the four samples.

Sampling room is a bit bland.

Would return if in the area but not worth making a special trip.
