Crystal clear, pale yellow with a think fine, white cap. Sticky lace, decent retention after the head fell to a collar. Aromas of cooked veggies, floral hops, and light sweetness. Low bitterness. The flavour was the same as the aroma, lots of veggies and not much else. Fairly clean though without a lot of sulfur or skunk. Light bodied with average carbonation, fairly dry. Not bad, but nothing here worth revisiting.

Look :- Gold , Hugh carbonation , short lived thin white head .

Smell:- Grass , mild malt.

Taste :- Grassy , slight malt , a breadish aftertaste .

Mouth feel :- High viscosity yet still watery somehow? Bubbles akin to pop.

Overall :- It's a lager , no rough alcohol taste .

The pour is golden yellow with a fair amount of carbonation. The taste is grains & malt, I agree with the beer being a tad too sweet, maybe it has too much maize. All in all, this beer was okay it's worth a try if you like Euro Pale Lagers. Cheers! B-

Not sure how old this bottle purchased at Half Time Beer? Nothing outstanding here. Some off flavors with too much sweetness.

500 ml clear bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.3%. Pale yellow to golden colour. Fizzy beer with a big head. Industrial sweetish pale lager aroma, notes of maize, candy and some fruit. The flavour is fairly sweet with some fruitiness, hardly any bitterness at all. Not much to write home about here.

Look: medium gold very clear.
Smell: Grain, slight sweetness of an undetermined origin.
Taste: Better than the #3, less barnyard, typical Euro lager but slightly different. Not better or worse. Just OK.
Similar to Heineken, Orangeboom, etc....

Poured from a brown bottle into a pint glass with best before 05-30-20
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden color with a one finger head of fluffy white foam. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a tiny bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew strongest of a granny smell mixed with a bit of an herbal and grassy hop. Along with these aromas comes a little bit of a harvest fruit smell as well as a touch of caramel.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather grainy and bready taste that has a touch of caramel sweetness. Upfront there is also a little bit of a hay and herbal taste, which with the rest create a base flavor fro the brew. As the taste advances some paper and cardboard like flavors comes to the tongue, detracting from the initially nice flavor profile. At the end a slightly minerally taste joins the flavor profile and leaves one with a rather odd and grainy, but somewhat mineral/stale taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light and crisp with a carbonation level that is on the slightly higher side. For the style the feel was good and make for a more crisp sipper.
Overall – Ahh.. A little off in some of its flavor profile with flavors of mineral/paper/cardboard that detracted from some of the nice malt flavors. Not Baltika’s best…

of the four of these i had in a recent session, this is the one i liked the least. i dont think the clear bottle does it any favors, even though it doesnt necessarily taste any older or more skunky than any of the others. i believe this is a stab at some sort of premium lager, but to me it actually kind of seems cheaper than the others. its off dry, the body seems to be between the very light number 2 and the fuller feeling number 3, which is to say average for the style. it has a light breadiness, some copper and light metallic character at the end, even when its still ice cold, slight urine, and less of the lager yeast i liked in the others, although still there to some extent. its just really minimal, and seems more in line with other lagers of the region. i think this beer needs a context, and fortunately for us, the context was the fabulous alyonka russian restaurant on state street in boise, a spot ive been dying to check out and was totally impressed with. with authentic cuisine of this caliber, any beer would taste good, and it was nice to be able to have something less common and actually from russia. that said, i would choose the other three baltika beers i had in here over this one. not awful, but nothing remarkable about it either, and its just another cheap lager to my palate...

I was gifted this beer by my daughter-in-law’s friend - nice gal, this beer? Not so much.

Though from Russia you would think by just looking at it, smelling it, or tasting it - the damn thing was have decent Bud, but only half decent.

I’m thankful for the gift, but even more thankful I didn’t have to buy this to now be rating... :)
