Picked this up at a local Polish deli with a sweet selection of some eastern european surprises. Golden pour, quickly dissapating head. Smell was your typical saaz hops, light/ earthy..taste was a typical pils, but a little sweeter on the finish. Overall a pretty solid beer, very quenchable, would love to try this on draft fresh..

Poured into my Zatec fluted glass. Got an immediate 2 fingers of head, with almost zero retention. Yellow straw color. Smells lightly floral, with a very light corn scent. Very light in flavor, soft corn and floral flavors. Not bad. Very drinkable, especially in the summer months.

Poured from a green 16.9 oz. bottle. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of grains, a touch of skunk to it. Taste is also grains and some malts, a tad on the skunky side. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a drinkable beer but nothing special.

Pours crystal clear (like water) light yellow color with a foamy snow white 2 finger head that faded quickly, leaving OK lacing and a ring around the top.
Smells of grains, light herbs, light floral hops, sweet malt, husk, grass and faint caramel. This is categorized as a Czech Pilsner, yet the bottle states “Lager”; either way, the nose is faint overall and more like a Czech Pilsner.
Tastes like it smells, with grains, herbs, biscuit, light floral hops, sweet malt, husk, grass and faint caramel; there seemed to be a corn or rice taste in the mix, and while this was not complex it was very clean, crisp, refreshing and extremely easy to drink.
Mouthfeel was light, crisp creamy and slick, with very light carbonation, a light body and very high drinkability. The overall flavor was sweet, and based on the price ($1.09 for a 25 oz) this is a definite session beer. Extra credit for tasting decent and being extremely cheap.

Another "find" as a single at my local bottle shop this past week. People are concerned about my keeping my bottle numbers aligned with my CAN stats, so I am trying new and different beers. "Gus" has something to do with "goose" as noted on their logo, but "Zatecky" ... ? It is the name of a Czech Republic city.
My pour resulted in a finger of foamy, bone-white head that disappeared like the foam on the surf of the ocean. Color was a golden-yellow with NE-quality clarity. Nose was very pleasant with Saaz hops and my mouth began to water at the prospect. Mouthfeel was medium with a definite grassy Saaz hops presence. Finish was semi-dry with the Saaz hops just lingering as an aftertaste. I really liked this, and coupled with its very reasonable price point, I would drink this again without much coaxing. Now, if only they would put it in a CAN ...

The beer poured pale golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sweetness, metallicness and hint of grain. Palate was light bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were metallicness, sweetness, mildly grain and quite mild bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, a bit grainy and bitter. Very mild-flavoured beer and still a harsh one.

Appearance: Clear light straw yellow, bone white soapy head. Leaves behind some lacing making for an attractive looking pils.
Smell: Pale malts, alittle bready, heavy handed euro hops providing a sweetly skunky Saaz/Tettneng like aroma.
Taste: Uber clean lager flavor, very refreshing and light. Biscuity malt. Soft tea like hops impart a leafy, vague spicy note. Did I mention clean? The flavors are gone in a flash and politely fade to nothing.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied feel, well carbonated,
Overall: A pretty nice pilsner here. Mellow, light, and certainly easy drinking. I would consider this a lunch time beer.

500 ml. bottle, bought in a shop of russian and german food and beverages near home. Pours a crystal pale golden colour, with a decent head that is not there when you look again at it. Smell of grains, grains and hints of peach. Too watery palate, thin body, taste is the same as smell: grains, herbs and some peach, with maybe some citrus too. Average to bad.

Bottled 5/20/12. Best before 5/20/13.
Pours a clear yellow with a foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Tiny dots and foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and some grassy aromas. Taste is much the same with a grain-like aftertaste. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is quite easy to drink and fairly tasty.

I'm really thirsty after an afternoon of walking around Kyiv, so maybe I'm rating this higher. Poured cold (YES!) with a nice foamy, off-white head that settled after a bit to a light cover with clumps and some lace. Color is a clear amber with lots of bubble trails. Aroma is dominated by skunk (green glass), malt, caramel, a little hop. Flavor is sweet/carbonic tang/bitter in a less than ideal mix. Body and carbonation are ok. Finish is like flavor, mostly short except for corn sweetness which remains, and forgettable.
