Given to me by a friend from St Petersburg, so he was proud of this fro his home town... but I'm a little skeptical. Bottled 9/27/12, enjoy by 9/27/13 so that's a plus.

Well, it starts with a screwcap so there's some minus points.

well, it does pour a decent looking fizzy 1 finger head but it fades semi quickly with at least some lacing, over brilliantly clear slightly watery pilsner yellow color.

Nose isn't as bad as I expected, some toasty pilsner malts, grainy and a little husk, straw, faint metallic tinny lager addition, and a bit of a corn like sweet mash thing, and a bit fruity.

Taste starts with a husky grainy toasty pilsner malt, little corn mash flavor, a bit of cheap macro grainy flavor, and a light tinny lager flavor. Some fruity flavors, and a sweet partially unfermented mash flavor. Light bitterness as well. Finish is semi sweet but drier, lingering sweet macro malt mash, husky, grainy, toasted hay, more fruity but slightly unhappy lager, and a little bitter grassy hop flavor.

Mouth is lighter to a bit more med bodied, lighter but decent carb.

Overall not too bad, it doesn't have a lot going for it, and a slight tinny metallic flavor and macro husky mash flavors, but otherwise not bad, and no glaring defects like skunk, super metallic flavors, or very unhappy lager yeast remnants.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that gradually died down, leaving a large patch of bubbles in the center, a collar around the edge and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of corn are present in the nose along with some hints of sweetness and bready malts.
T: The taste very much follows the smell and has no noticeable bitterness.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied (but not watery) on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: Although this beer doesn't have any perceptible hops in the smell or taste, it seems a little maltier compared to other beers in the style without being that sweet. It is rather easy to drink.

A: Pours a nice clear dark gold with a head that quickly subsides but leaves lots of lacing.

S: Grainy, slightly fruity

T: the taste follows the smell. Not much in the way of hops. It reminds me somewhat of the way older American Lagers tasted ... maybe Narragansett or Kruegar.

M: Light bodied and refreshing. No aftertaste.

O: This is a good solid example of a European Lager.

The beer pours a dark golden yellow in color. There is a half-inch head of pure white foam that leaves generous lacing down the glass.

The aroma is grainy, slightly sweet, creamy, with a floral note.

The taste follows the aromas, slightly sweet grain, a touch of lager "funk", light floral taste and floral bitterness. The bitterness balances the sweetness, but neither overwhelms the other.

The mouthfeel is carbonated, but not overwhelmingly so, there is a definite creaminess. It is somewhat crisp, yet creamy, at the same time. This is a nice, but not great, Euro lager.
