The Green Jug is a good unpretentious local alternative to BevMo and other wine/liquor store chains. While primarily a well priced and well stocked spirit shop (lots of high end bourbon, rye, scotch, tequila etc), they have a decent selection of wine and beer as well.

The walls towards the back are lined with refrigerators, about half of which are loaded up with beer (the other half with soda, mixers, cider, perry, etc). In the very back fridge, you'll find 40s of malt liquor, 24-packs of BMC, etc - and as you walk towards the front of the store, the selection quality improves with each fridge - going from 4 and 6 packs of mostly California beers (Firestone Walker, North Coast, Stone, etc) to 4 and 6 packs of out of state craft beer (e.g. Dogfish Head, Oskar Blues) to single bottles of California beers (e.g. Lost Abbey, Alesmith, Marin, Mission, Bootlegger's, Moylan's, Green Flash, Russian River, Stone, etc) to single bottles of out of state craft beer (e.g. Avery, Hair of the Dog, etc.) before finally hitting the imports which range from novelty selections from Tibet, India, and China to a decent selection of English, German, and Belgian beers (e.g. Corsendonk, Kwak, Trappistes Rochefort). On the ends of the nearby aisles there are also temporary displays of single bottles (including some that should have been in the fridge - which is annoying since the fridge has bottles that don't really require refrigeration), and seasonal offerings. They also have a small but decent glassware selection ranging from Chang mugs to Delerium Noel tulips to Cali pint glasses.

The staff is friendly and fairly helpful, though far from being enthusiastic experts about anything in the store.

Worth stopping in if you are in the area, but not worth going out of your way for unless you are looking for some harder to find spirits.

I live waaaay on the other side of the county, but I do have some family in west hills so this is my go to spot when I venture out this far into the valley. Beer selection is top notch - and it seems to last here since it's soo far away from most beer nerds.
Prices are just like any other place in that they are fair and not over priced at all. They also have reasonably priced glassware section with everything from tulips to nonics to tasting glasses.
Hours are great. They open at 9a and 90% of they're brew is cold so you can drink up without cooling down your stuff when you get home. Open late on weekends and they have beer tastings on Thursday
Staff has always been friendly when I come in. I'm not that talkative and they respect that never lookin over me when I'm the last customer in need of that late night run or their first customer stocking up for a good day off
Over the years of me coming here I've been able to pick up some of the best beers around including Pliny and other russian river brews , Parabola, Eclipse50/50, and Hair of the dog (from the wood) series
I'm giving this place a high rating because the flat out deserve it - you can probably find me raving about this place on hard liquor and wine websites too!

This is a great bottle shop! Nice variety and always fresh beers. The customers that come in know their beer, and thus the bottles get turned-over quickly. I can always trust them to have the newest releases.

They also have a large selection of wine and spirits.
