I can't believe I have never reviewed this beer. I have been coming to Ragtime 4 or 5 times a year for the past 7 years and almost always have a couple.

It is served in an imperial pint "style" glass, the beer is a dark garnet with a thick tan head.

It has an aroma of grapefruit, caramel and bagels.

This beer tends towards the bitter end of the red spectrum. The citrus like hops lead the way. These are followed by sweet, grainy malts and fresh dough.

The mouth has decent heft and low-level carbonation.

I like this red. It has a slightly amped-up hop presence, but is still balanced.

Served a bit too cold, pours a brownish red with little to no lace. Nice amount of hops and malt comng through in the aroma. Tastes bitter upfront from the hops with a solid sweet malt backbone to balance out the bitterness. Nothing overly exciting but a fine example of the style. Most notable is that it is clearly a fresh beer from the bright hop character and grainy presence in both smell and taste.

Single finger head with decent lacing on a light amber clear body. Sweet caramel malt aroma, not much else. Flavor is full with a roasted caramel malt presence with a musty and earthy hop finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Overall a strong and robust beer, simple but good.
