A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had coal black color and a thick consistency. There was a small amount of foamy head that quickly dissipated. Average lacing.
S: Lots of malt, chocolate, and coffee in the smell. Basically, it smelled like a typical stout.
T: Tasted of malt, mild hops, a little chocolate and coffee, and a big shot of vanilla in the finish. The oak is present, but not hugely influential. Not quite as robust or powerful as a stout should be, but decent enough.
M: A decent amount of carbonation with a surprisingly dry finish. Medium-bodied.
O: Not a bad beer, but there are better examples of the style out there.
