Tasted On Nitro-Tap on 06/27/06 at the Old Dominion Brewpub in Ashburn, VA.

Cloudy, hazy, and amber/brown/mahogany in color with a nice nitro headed pour. Very nicely balanced citrusy hop and strong malt aroma and flavors. Incredibly balanced and not sweet in any way which is nice since most Red's are too sweet for my liking. Full-medium bodied and creamy smooth in-line with a nitro pour.

The Double Red was very unique and was wondering what the base style was since it was kind of an Irish Red with an American Hoppy Amber twist… Get it before it's gone !

This was a nitrogen infused beer, like Guinness, except a red ale instead of a stout. It of course had a thick foamy head and clear red color. It smelled fairly malty but with noticeable hops too. It tasted surprisingly bitter, like a potent pale ale bordering on IPA. There was definite burnt malt flavoring, but not nearly as much as a typical red. Texture was very smooth and nicely carbonated. Others thought the flavor was bland, but I thought it was simply drinkable and enjoyable.
