Very hoppy for a pale ale. Little misleading.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: Darker reddish amber color with a thick off white head.
Smell: Light hops
Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth medium bodied. Taste of bitter hops with a hint of malty sweetness.
Overall: Not bad, glad I tried it.

I bought this when I visited Colonial Williamsburg. It is brewed by Old Dominion Brewing Co out of Dover Delaware. Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass. Nothing special to like and nothing to dislike. Your average pale ale although I was surprised that it had more of a bitter hop bite than I thought it would.

Pours hazy amber reddish color with a huge 2 finger foamy light tan head that faded very slowly and left excellent foamy lacing sticking to the sides. The lacing was great and left lovely foamy rings as it went down.
Smells and tastes of grapefruit, orange peel, caramel, citrus hops, lemon zest, wheat bread, graham cracker, piney hops, sweet malt and flowers or light herbs. A general malty sweetness mixes well with the hops, allowing the citrus fruit to cut through and add very nice balance.
Mouthfeel is very smooth and almost slick, with mild carbonation, a medium body that's a little chewy, trailing with a slightly bitter, sweet and grainy finish that has a slight yeasty or bready essence. Really tasty beer that was much better than I anticipated, I'd definitely have it again.

Old school recipe. Not complex but easy to drink. Liked it. Drank from 12 oz bottles. No idea what it looked like. Drank a few and didn't complain.

Picked up this one from a shop in Colonial Williamsburg, along with two other Colonial Williamsburg licensed beers made by Alewerks. This one is called Raleigh Tavern WMSB Pale Ale, brewed by Old Dominion. An English style ale, this has a thin head on the pour that disappears quickly. The first taste is malty sweet, followed by the what seemed to be a pretzel flavor on the tongue. The finish is clean, with no evident bitterness. Not a particularly noteworthy ale, but quite drinkable. The two made by Alewerks were much more interesting beers.

A: Copper filtered, no carbonation, 3 fingers off white head.
S: Caramel, lemon and lemon peel, brown tea. A little stinky foot.
T: Caramel, toffee, little citrus, brewed un-sweet tea.
M: Medium light body, lots of carbonation.
O: A nice good English pale ale, brewed with tradition. I got it in Williamsburg, VA, and drank it at Table Rock Lake, MO, August 7th, 2014.
