Poured into a Booth's High & Dry Gin snifter on 2/9/13
Bottling Date: 12/04/12
Cloudy copper with orange highlights in the light. Away from the light it looks rusty. Fast rising head a notch above two fingers. The bubbles dissipate leaving ample lace and a foamy dome.
At first smell, my impression was that of caramel bread water. Once the head died away, the hops emerge a bit more: pine, orange pith, soap, hints of lemon/lime. Botanical, herbal notion. But there's still a strong caramel and bread presence.
The taste is pretty pedestrian; piney hops with intermittent citric zest, toasty bread and some caramel. Bitterness picked up midway through but mellowed a little over time.
Medium body with a resiny, gritty feel. Moderately low carbonation; rather smooth. I have no major gripes with the feel.
Overall impression; drinkable but ultimately forgettable.

A - Thin white head that dissipated quickly. Amber orange in color, slightly cloudy
S - Super hoppy and piney aroma, with slight citrus notes
T - Great hoppy bitterness and strong grapefruit flavor followed by a very subtle malty sweetness, leaves grapefruit after taste
M - Medium-light in body, very fine carbonation
O - In between a pale ale and an IPA. Great if you're looking for a hoppy beer but don't want the intensity of an IPA
