Smells like light pine and tangerine. Malty. Taste follows nose. Not a bad offering in the least. I just wanted a little more of a hop kick. I got a bottle for $1 . 3 months past expiration date- maybe a fresh one would have a stronger hops presence.

On tap at Airport. Pours a deep copper color. Small head, lots of lacing. Smell is of pine foremost. Taste follows. Very little aftertaste (good thing). Smooth and refreshing.

On-tap at the Old Dominion taphouse inside Dulles International Airport, on to the beer:

A half-inch of head rests on top this toasted orange beer. Webbed lacing adds a little extra texture to the appearance. The aroma is clean, hoppy, bringing pine, orange peel, a fruit salad, and toasted grain to the nose. Equally malty as hoppy, this pale ale hits the spot! The delightful maltiness of caramel makes a good backbone for orange, grapefruit, and cantaloupe flavors to hit. The beer is medium bodied, yet surprisingly rich in flavor. Hop Mountain gets an easy recommendation from this BA.

Old Dominion Hop Mountain.

Ahhhh yes...good ole... Old Dominion. Rarely lets me down no matter what I choose to buy from them, hence why they are either a star player in my mix a six, or the one beer I grab for filler expecting a gem. This one was the latter, and my night cap.

Look - Pours a moderately murky amber with a two and a half finger sticky off white head that forms a deep well rounded pit in the middle. Carbonation does not appear to be a member of this rodeo. So far the head is retaining quite well and I can already tell lacing shall hopefully be a spectacle. Lacing is very well retained but not as much as I had expected. 4.25.

Smell - A big dosage of grapefruit pith and raw juice up front, followed by a toasted maltiness that meets directly in the middle. 3.5.

Taste - Pretttyyyy much follows the nose. Grapefruit piths and raw grapefruit juice with a heavy dose of malt. Very juicy and more bitter than you would expect for the style. 3.5.

Feel - Well rounded body, which is moderate in size with a very low amount of carbonation and a high level of creamyness due to the well retained head. 3.5.

Overall - Well this is probably my least favorite thus far out of these guys. But, it is still a pretty solid Pale Ale as far as Pale Ales go. I'd have again for casual purposes, but there are other pale ales I'd pick up before it. 3.5..

12oz bottle into my Dogfish glass.

A: Pours a clear copper, almost amber with 1/2" white head that sits down immediately. Retention & lacing are both quite good.

S: (disclaimer- this bottle doesn't smell right, not the way I remember this brew smelling) I'm getting primarily malty aromas, none of the dank hashiness that this bottle usually delivers. It's not skunked but something is off.

T: Solid bitter hops up front, grassy & piney notes. Malty through the mid palate with an ever increasing bitterness to finish. Resinous linger left on the tongue.

M: Moderate to high carb & an oily malt body. Surprisingly dry & crisp finish.

O: When this brew is in peak form, it's really quite a nice, dank Pale. Unfortunately the bottle as reviewed was a bit lacking.

A 355ml bottle with a BB of July 2015. Picked up a while back from Hopology in Nottingham. The label mentions that this beer is hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Cascade and Crystal.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. A deep, hazy marmalade-amber hue with fine sediment and medium carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy off-white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.

S: Aroma of intense hops with hints of pine, weed, mild grapefruit, citrus, caramel malt, earthy yeast and stewed hops. A warming whiff of booze in the background. Pretty good.

T: Tastes of robust aromatic hops with a powerful bitter finish. Notes of pungent pine resin, dank weed, grapefruit, orange peel, citrus, caramel malt, earthy yeast and stewed hops. A twinge of cardboard in the background. Slightly sweet, followed by a muscular hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with pleasant carbonation and decent body. Some mild hop oil action on the palate. Pretty astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, harsh stewed leaves, caramel malt and subtle yeast.

O: A decent pale ale (in fact, surprisingly hoppy relative to it's description). Looks good, while the aroma and flavour are seriously pine-laden and bitter. Sweet malt and yeast underpin the hop character. Body is OK. I suspect that this bottle is not as fresh as it could be, but it goes down easily enough. Worth sampling if you chance across it.

355ml bottle poured into a tulip glass

Look: Spray tan orange - I mean very, very orange. Fairly fizzy right out of the gate, with a couple of fingers of off-white head that drop down to a foam cap eventually. Good bit of lacing on the glass.

Smell: Well, it's definitely got the hop smells - a big, heapin' pile of orange and lemon with a good bit of pine resin on top. If I was feeling uncharitible Id' say it had a bit of a disinfectant vibe to it, but I'm not so I won't. Has a very 'fresh' floral/resinous smell. I like.

Taste: Good, solid hop flavours with a hint of citrus and resin in the finish. No malt or yeast notes to speak of.

Feel: Nicely astringent - plenty of hops up front with a long, dry finish. Not excessively bitter - nicely balanced.

Overall: OK, so the name is a bit misleading but the fact remains that in this reviewer's opinion this isn't half bad as pale ales go. Not as hoppy as a typical IPA, this has more in common with the British pale ales that, being a Brit, I'm more familiar with. Definitely an interesting take on the style. Worth a punt.
