The slightly hazy copper hued brew is topped by a creamy white, persistent, lace - leaving head. The aroma is a combination of a floral hop nose, butterscotch and biscuit malt. The initial quick snap of hop bitterness gives way to lightly sweet, toffeeish buttery malt w/ a strong caramel presence. The hop flavor is slightly earthy. Moderately bodied. Finishes dry, with a clean quickly fading hop bitterness. Old Dubliner is highly drinkable, well balanced and almost ideal session brew.

Tasted on-tap 10/06/05 at the OD brewpub in Ashburn, VA.
Amber color with a low beige head and decent carbonation. A not so nice aroma unfortunately with lots of buttery diacetyl character. Similar buttery flavor with some malty characteristics but not much else to define it. Medium bodied. Hard to finish.
Please pass on by... much better Irish and Amber offerings at ODBC than this one.
Per ODBC website: Brewed in the Irish bitter Style, using Two-Row Pale, Caramel, and Black Malts. Imported Irish Northdown hops. ABV: 4.6%
