An orange pale ale colored beer - not amber as the the name states with no head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of hops and malt. The flavor is sweet with light notes of straw and citrus. I find it a bit boring. It was a little light for me but nice. A decent amber nonetheless.

On-tap into pint glass.

Slightly cloudy golden hue with a one finger light tan head that settles to a almost nothing. Light grains with a good balancing amount of bitter hops to balance it. A good light toastiness is in the flavor, along with the same good balancing slightly assertive hops. Light-medium bodied with good carbonation. The finish is the toasty grains which linger for a bit.

I'd say this one could probably be put in the All-Malt Lager category, but whichever works. Godo for the summer. Recommended.

Had on-tap at McGarvey's Saloon in Annapolis, MD.

A: Light chestnut brown with almost no head.

S: Sweet malts and some faint yeasts.

T/M: Sweet malts with a slight nuttiness and somewhat herbal hops. Nice and crisp, with a biscuitiness that resembles more a light brown ale than a lager.

D: Wonderfully refreshing and complements the heavy seafood offerings of this restaurant well.

Crystal clear dark golden hue topped by a tight, dense head that leaves attractive lace. Toasty Vienna malt aroma, w/ a floral Hallertauer hop nose. Firm malt body, w/ a smooth, dextrinous mouthfeel. Excellent malt / hop balance. The hop flavor seems to be a herbal Hellertauer and grassy/spicy Saaz hop mix. Cracker - like malt notes become noticeable as the beer warms. Finishes clean, w/ a hint of honey - like sweetness. I could drink this all day. Aviator Amber is flavorful and superlatively balanced. Old Dominion never disappoints.

Poured into my pint glass a clear brassy gold with almost no head. What little head there was didn't stick around to see what was going on. It packed up and left quickly.

The aroma was just what you would expect from a lager. Good, clean m alt scent with a very slight hint of sulfer. Sweet without making you wonder if there are any hops present.

The taste was just good, malty sweetness, wit hops making a cameo appearance. This is what the mass produced lagers wish they could get by with making. Very good, very clean, with only the carbonic bite of a stongly carbonated beer to draw away from the malty goodness.

The mouthfeel was a bit heavier than one would expect from this type of beer, but it wasn't thick by any means.

Overall I found this one to be quite refreshing, clean, and good. Attenuate it out a little more to get a thinner body, and this one would be fantastic. Even as it is, it's a nice beer, and definitely worth a try.

Nice two finger head slightly off white, some retention with moderate lacing.
Clear orange amber color.

Floral nose with slight hay maltiness, malt sweetness aroma as it warms.

Hoppy bite up front- balancing carmel malt sweetness into finish. Very balanced and drinkable with a nice rounded malt character that makes it easily consumed with a variety of foods. More hoppy than other beers of the Am. Amber/Red Lager category.

Nice mouthfeel slight thickness with an effervescence, good session beer.

Served a a deep golden colored beer with moderate white puffy head.
Smell is mainly malty with a very slight hop note detectable.
Taste is refreshing with a nice maltiness present.
Finishes a bit thin, yet still refreshing.
A very easy drinking beer. A notch above the macro lagers.

Poured a clearish red body with a soapy, brawny head. Light malts and light hops in the smell although there was a tad funkiness in the aroma.
The malts come in high gear with this beer, but there is a stubborness to this beer as the bread malt kicks in a little too much and the beer is a little stuffy. Finishes smooth and clean with some hop bitterness. Not a bad red, but for some reason I didn't really enjoy it.
